Charlie Moreland Trip Report
1st April 2025

Fantastic weekend, excellent company, the weather perfect and great drives.
Karen & I arrived on Friday arvo to find Arne, Lillie, Steve and Sandra set up and enjoying the afternoon sun. Next to arrive was Rob in his newish Hilux and as night fell we were joined by Joanne.
Friday night was spent relaxing around the fire with a few ales and making plans for the weekend. Saturday morning, while having breakfast, we were joined by a few day trippers in Jason and Jo in the big V8 79 series, followed by Achilles and the kids in the Jeep Gladiator.
We headed out Sunday Creek Road for an easy morning drive with a bit of exploring in mind. We turned off in the cleared forest and found a little play hill which the very long wheel-based Jeep found challenging on the way up and down and needed a gentle recovery (there has to be one).
We worked our way around and drove back via Booloumba Creek, which had some good water in it, making for a few fun crossings. Back to camp for lunch.
After lunch, we headed our on a difficult drive so left a few cars behind. The tracks were awesome with plenty to challenge the cars and driving skills. no recoveries but one hill that wasn't drive despite a few attemps haha.
After washing our cars off in one of the creek crossings, we headed back to camp for happy hour.
We spent Saturday night around the fire talking about the day's events and having a great laugh.
On Sunday Morning after breakfast, we headed into town to meet up with day tripper Dave in his Jeep before doing a recce in the Inbil forest for a future day drive. After turning around a few times and driving the creek run both ways, we found some challenging tracks and had a great morning's fun before heading to the Kenilworth Pub for lunch, then headed back to camp for the inevitable pack and trip home.
Thank you to all who attended, looking for to our next camp at Easter.
Cheers
Jim
